Brad Ellis PDF Print E-mail
Brad Ellis has been interested in filmmaking ever since he first saw John Carpenter’s Halloween at the too-young age of eight. Growing up watching primarily horror movies, Brad later expanded his appreciation for films of all genres. Ever since his parents bought him a small camcorder in high school, he has been experimenting with all sorts of filmed skits, sketches, and features. Primarily interested in camera operation, Brad has shot and directed all of Old School Pictures’ films to date. In high school he was named Most Valuable Intro to Film & Video Student, won the Tully Daniel Scholarship award for his accomplishments in the Houston High School video department, and was chosen by his peers as “Most Likely to Have Hands on Hollywood Blvd.” He received his BA from the University of Memphis with a degree in Communications and Film / Video Production, graduating with a 3.9 GPA and ranking number one in his class. Additionally, Brad has shot corporate video work for Belz Enterprises, Home Instead Senior Care, and Memphis Records, among others. After winning the Hometown Narrative Feature in the 2002 Indie Memphis Film Festival for The Path of Fear, which he shot and co-directed with Old School’s Joey Watson, Brad is looking forward to handing over the camera reigns with Act One and concentrate solely on working more closely with the film’s actors. While his passion for the art is obvious, Brad feels that – more than anything – the camaraderie between he and his Old School team is what motivates and inspires him with each and every new filmmaking endeavor.
